Just imagine a version of yourself where every doubt becomes a stepping stone, and every challenge is an opportunity, while every setback is progress. But what if the recipe for success is not luck or innate talent? It’s the way you think? Moreover, what if the only thing between you and success is your mindset? What if you train your mind to see every hardship and challenge as a step toward success and growth? So, how do you change your mindset to be successful? Indeed, this is the key to unlocking your full potential.
You are in the right place. In this blog, we discuss a research-based study about how to change your mindset to be successful. Furthermore, the most important thing is that we will create a whole practical map for changing your mindset to be successful. By the end of this, you won’t need any other piece of writing. In fact, this blog is the ultimate solution. Firstly, we understand the core question:
What is mindset?
Mindset is how you think and feel about things, guiding your actions and reactions. American psychologist Carol Dweck first used the word mindset in her book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, where she introduced two great ideas of all time: a Fixed mindset and a Growth mindset.
1. Fixed Mindset (Close Mindset)
In a Fixed Mindset, individuals believe their talents, personalities, and intelligence are innate or can’t change. People with a Fixed Mindset believe that if we fail, it’s not our mistake; it’s inherited, and we can’t change it. The following are characteristics of close or fixed-mindset individuals:
- They believe that If they are not good at something, They will never be good at it.
- When they face challenges in life, they give up quickly because they believe they have limited innate abilities that they cannot change.
- When they receive constructive feedback from others, they may perceive it as criticism of their innate abilities rather than an opportunity for improvement.
- They always limit themselves often. Like they usually say, I can’t do that I am not good at. I can’t do it.
- They often believe working hard is only helpful if they have innate or natural talent.
These individuals fixed or closed themselves in certain beliefs that are often inaccurate.
2. Growth Mindset (Open Mindset)
In a Growth Mindset, individuals believe their talents, personalities, and intelligence can be changed or improved by effort, persistence, and hardwork. People with an growth mindset believe that if we fail at something, it’s not the end, but they see failure as an opportunity for growth and try again with a different approach. The following are characteristics of open or growth mindset individuals:
- People with growth mindsets see challenges in life as opportunities for growth.
- When they face setbacks, they remain determined and never give up until they succeed.
- They usually have high willpower and open themselves for growth. Like they always say, I will do this, and that, and it’s straightforward and possible.
- They usually do positive self-talk to themselves.
- They are very eager to learn new things, and their main focus is to know.
- People with a growth mindset are very resilient. They immediately bounce back from failures and setbacks.
Now, the question is:
How do you develop a growth mindset?
To develop a growth mindset, you need only one thing: “INTENTIONALLY SHIFT IN YOUR BELIEVES.” Believes are essential in shaping your mindset. When you genuinely believe in something, it starts to happen automatically. So, when you are on a journey to developing a growth mindset, you need to shift your previous beliefs with new ones. For example, we create a scenario in which if you believe earning $10000/month is impossible, you can shift your belief to how it is possible to earn $10000/month. Just change your mindset to be successful.
You can split this or get a per-day figure for $ 10,000 monthly, but you need to earn $333 daily. So now you have to find which business model has the potential of earning $333/Day. So, like this step by step, you can earn $10000/month. It’s a growth mindset that I will learn. I will plan like this, and then this will happen. If you are stuck on this and this is impossible, you will never grow and earn $ 10,000/month. So, you only need an intentional shift in your beliefs.
The practical 3-Step (BAP) Formula
Step 1: Believe Shift
According to this scenario, instead of thinking that earning $10000/Month is impossible, you can believe and shift your belief to that. How can I make $10000/month possible?
Step 2: Actionable Steps
Outline the steps to achieve a specific goal after the belief shift. In our scenario, we can do splits of this $10000, or you can get a per-day figure for earning $10000/month; you need to earn $333/day and find which business model has the potential of earning $333/day. So, like this step-by-step, you can earn $10,000/month.
Step 3: Positive Reinforcement
The last step is to positively reinforce (Positive reinforcement means rewarding the positive behavior with the desire to repeat it). In our scenario, after earning our first $333/Day, we celebrate this milestone to encourage the repetition of this behavior.
This three-step (BAP) Formula can be applied to any area of life. First, shift your beliefs, take actionable steps, and receive positive reinforcement. It’s a recipe for developing a growth mindset that leads to success.
We have already learned how to develop a growth mindset. After developing a growth mindset, we have to go further in steps to use our growth mindset, which will help us succeed. To learn how to change your mindset to be successful, here is my 5C’s blueprint, which I have practiced for years. It has helped me immensely and played a massive role in my success. I am ready to share with my community. So, in this practical road map, we have five steps. If anybody applies these steps in their lives after developing a growth mindset, they will indeed one hundred percent succeed.
5C’s Blueprint – Roadmap to change your mindset to be successful
Following are 5C’s Blueprint steps:
- Create a specific goal
- Craft a solid plan
- Commit to a learning phase
- Celebrate small wins
- Cultivate Ongoing Momentum
1. Create a specific goal
The first step is to sit in a quiet place, mute all the distractions around you, and write a definite goal you want to accomplish. This goal should be particular. For instance, if you have any financial-related goal, you can write like this: I will achieve this X amount of money in this specific X month by utilizing these skills. I will sacrifice this and this to achieve this. Therefore, be as specific as you can when you write your goal. Indeed, this is the foundation of how to change your mindset to be successful.
2. Craft a solid plan
Next, after creating a specific goal, it’s time to make solid strategic planning. First of all, look for all the fundamentals needed for your goal. For example, our financial goal can be to study different business models and find the right one for us. Then, make a chunk of actionable steps that you will take to achieve success. It can be any plan for your specific goal. However, this plan should be solid and have healthy research behind it. This step is crucial for anyone looking to alter their mindset.
3. Commit to a learning phase
The third step is the commitment to learning. As we all know, learning is the backbone of everything. In our case, we learn very precisely, which aligns with our goal and helps us to grow. SPECIFIC LEARNING means that you gain only a particular knowledge which you need. So, don’t be a learning junkie (someone who consumes so much knowledge but never puts this knowledge into practice). Instead, commit to a specific learning that contributes to your growth.
4. Celebrate small wins
When we focus on our goals, we usually focus on the results. For example, if your goal is to win a marathon, you will only do it on the day you win it, but this is where you need to improve; you should enjoy small wins. If your goal is to win a marathon, you should celebrate the small runs, small achievements, and everyday small wins. For instance, if anyone aims to earn $10,000/month, but at the start, they get their first order of $200. Instead of thinking it’s nothing for me, I have just failed on the day I will start earning $10,000/month; they should celebrate this small win of getting a $200 order. Always remember small wins lead to big wins. Undoubtedly, this approach is critical to developing an adaptive mindset.
5. Cultivate ongoing momentum
Finally, you started everything well, and these above steps are working very well for you day by day by payday. Now, the fifth and final step is to cultivate ongoing momentum. In fact, momentum is everything for achieving success in your life. So, never ignore this step. Keep this momentum going, and ultimately, it will lead to the success that you dreamed of. This is how you change your mindset for success and ensure it stays mindset-changing.”
